Africa Regional Hindi Conference Successfully Held in Cairo on 8-9 February 2026
The Embassy of India in Cairo, in collaboration with Ain Shams University, successfully organized the Africa Regional Hindi Conference in Cairo on 8-9 February 2026 on the theme “Hindi for Cultural Connectivity and Cooperation from the Ganges to the Nile.”
The two-day conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from eminent Hindi scholars, professors, academicians, writers, educators, and Hindi enthusiasts from 7 African countries – Kenya, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Mauritius, Nigeria, and South Africa, as well as professors from Ain Shams University, Cairo University and Al Azhar University, celebrating shared cultural bonds in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
The conference was inaugurated in the august presence of H.E. Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, Ambassador of India to Egypt, Ms. Neena Malhotra, Secretary (South), Ministry of External Affairs, Prof. Rami Mehar Ghali, Vice President of the Ain Shams University along with distinguished diplomats, senior academicians, and representatives of leading academic institutions. Their presence underscored India’s strong commitment to cultural diplomacy and academic cooperation with Africa and the Arab world.
Renowned Hindi professors and scholars from Cairo University, Al Azhar University, various African universities and international institutions delivered insightful presentations and participated in in-depth discussions. The deliberations focused on contemporary and relevant themes such as the role of Hindi in cultural connectivity, Hindi as a tool of international relations and cultural diplomacy, the growing global influence of Indian cinema, and the future of Hindi technology & AI era.
The academic sessions were marked by rich intellectual exchange, constructive dialogue, and concrete suggestions for strengthening institutional collaboration.
The successful hosting of the conference in Cairo highlighted the deep-rooted civilizational and cultural ties between India and Egypt, two ancient civilizations with a shared legacy of knowledge, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
The conference concluded with a strong consensus on the need to further promote Hindi teaching, research, and cultural exchange in Africa through sustained academic cooperation, faculty exchanges, student programs, and joint research initiatives.
The Africa Regional Hindi Conference was widely acknowledged as a resounding success and is expected to make a meaningful contribution to the enrichment of the Hindi language, the strengthening of India-Africa cultural ties, and the enhancement of people-to-people relations across regions.

نجاح انعقاد المؤتمر الإقليمي الإفريقي للغة الهندية في القاهرة يومي 8-9 فبراير 2026
نظمت سفارة الهند بالقاهرة، بالتعاون مع جامعة عين شمس، بنجاح المؤتمر الإقليمي الإفريقي للغة الهندية في القاهرة يومي 8-9 فبراير 2026، تحت عنوان “اللغة الهندية من أجل الترابط والتعاون الثقافي من نهر الجانجا إلى نهر النيل”.
شهد المؤتمر، الذي استمر يومين، مشاركة حماسية من نخبة من أساتذة وعلماء اللغة الهندية والأكاديميين والكتّاب والمعلمين ومحبي اللغة الهندية من سبع دول إفريقية هي: كينيا، وزيمبابوي، وناميبيا، وتنزانيا، وموريشيوس، ونيجيريا، وجنوب إفريقيا، إلى جانب أساتذة من جامعة عين شمس وجامعة القاهرة وجامعة الأزهر. ويأتي المؤتمر احتفاءً بالروابط الثقافية المشتركة تحت شعار “فاسودهايفا كوتومباكام” (العالم أسرة واحدة).
تم افتتاح المؤتمر بحضور سعادة السفير/ سوريش كيه. ريدي، سفير الهند لدى جمهورية مصر العربية، والسيدة/ نينا مالهوترا، نائبة وزير الشؤون الخارجية الهندي (لشؤون دول الجنوب)، والأستاذ الدكتور/ رامي ماهر غالي، نائب رئيس جامعة عين شمس، إلى جانب عدد من الدبلوماسيين البارزين وكبار الأكاديميين وممثلي المؤسسات الأكاديمية الرائدة. وقد عكس حضورهم التزام الهند القوي بالدبلوماسية الثقافية والتعاون الأكاديمي مع إفريقيا والعالم العربي.
وخلال المؤتمر، قدم أساتذة وعلماء بارزون في اللغة الهندية من جامعة القاهرة وجامعة الأزهر وعدد من الجامعات الإفريقية والمؤسسات الدولية عروضاً تقديمية مهمة، وشاركوا في مناقشات معمّقة. تناولت المناقشات العديد من الموضوعات المعاصرة وذات الصلة، ومنها دور اللغة الهندية في تعزيز الترابط الثقافي، واللغة الهندية كأداة في العلاقات الدولية والدبلوماسية الثقافية، والتأثير العالمي المتنامي للسينما الهندية، ومستقبل اللغة الهندية في عصر التكنولوجيا والذكاء الاصطناعي.
واتسمت الجلسات الأكاديمية بتبادل فكري ثري وحوار بنّاء، وطرحت خلالها مقترحات عملية لتعزيز التعاون المؤسسي.
وقد أبرز نجاح انعقاد المؤتمر في القاهرة عمق الروابط الحضارية والثقافية بين الهند ومصر، وهما حضارتان عريقتان تتقاسمان إرثاً مشتركاً من المعرفة والثقافة ويربط بينهما علاقات شعبية وثيقة.
واختُتم المؤتمر بإجماع قوي على ضرورة تعزيز تدريس اللغة الهندية والبحث العلمي والتبادل الثقافي في إفريقيا من خلال تعاون أكاديمي مستدام، وتبادل أعضاء هيئة التدريس، وتنظيم برامج للطلاب، وإطلاق مبادرات بحثية مشتركة.
حقق المؤتمر الإقليمي الإفريقي للغة الهندية نجاحاً كبيراً ولاقى إشادة واسعة، ومن المتوقع أن يسهم بشكل ملحوظ في إثراء اللغة الهندية، وتعزيز الروابط الثقافية بين الهند وإفريقيا، وتقوية العلاقات بين الشعوب عبر المناطق المختلفة.
